On the morning of the 2nd of January, Zoe was only 20 days old. She woke up uncontrollably crying, crying so hard with her eyes open just looking at me saying mum please help me. I was able to feed her a little bit of formula and able to get her to sleep. When she woke up an hour later she was screaming again. I said to her dad that she needs to be seen at the hospital. We took her to emergency where they conducted blood tests, lumbar puncture and a Covid test. A few days later all the tests came back and she tested for a blood infection and meningitis. We spent the next 2 weeks on antibiotics. She’s now almost 5 months old and thriving.
