All women during child birthing years should be made aware of GBS. Sarah was my second child. I had a completely healthy pregnancy with my 1st born child and he was born at 40 weeks completely healthy.
My pregnancy with Sarah was healthy but she was born early at 37 weeks. I started leaking amniotic fluid. Labor was 6 hours start to finish. She looked great at birth and didn’t show any problems for about 12 hours and then everything went down hill fast. Sarah lived 5 days after birth and sadly my baby only knew suffering here on earth.
I went on to have 3 more children and I was treated with antibiotics during labor with all three pregnancies. I only tested positive with one of these pregnancies. One son was born blue and had to be resuscitated. Oxygen for 15 minutes but after that completely healthy. The loss of my Sarah and her short lived life was truly unbearable. My heart breaks for any family that this has happened to. GBS doesn’t have to kill our babies! Please bring awareness.
