I was 38 weeks pregnant when my doctor checked my cervix for dilation. It hurt me very badly. My doctor even failed to let me know that I had tested positive for GBS. Something was nudging at the back of my head that I should ask her if I was positive for GBS, but I withheld my question because she used to get quickly irked by such questions. I was 39 weeks when my labor pain started. I developed chills and a low grade fever, little did I know I was infected by GBS. To my good fate my water didn't break and I was in the hospital. My daughter was a VBAC birth--a healthy 6.5 pound baby. I pray and thank GOD every day of my life that the infection didn't reach my daughter.
I hope and pray that many other parents are blessed with healthy babies by GOD.
