Oral & Poster
Panel Discussion
Additional Panel Members
If accepted, the following are requirements for your oral video (including panel discussions) or poster to be presented:
  • If you haven't registered already, register for ICGBS 2022 (registration is complimentary) within 10 days of your acceptance notification (all speakers in a panel discussion need to register, please)
  • Upload a photo of yourself (optional) for our presenters' page, conference program, your presentation page, and conference promotions within 10 days of your acceptance notification to the ICGBS 2022 Dropbox (please note: photos shown for panel discussions may be limited to the main speaker in some situations due to space)
  • Upload your presentation to the ICGBS 2022 Dropbox by June 26, 2022

Optional items to upload to the ICGBS 2022 Dropbox by June 26, 2022:
  • Slide handouts in .pdf format for viewers to download to take notes
  • Other supplemental handouts in .pdf format for viewers to download
About recording your oral video (including panel discussion) presentation:
  • There are various ways that oral presentations can be prerecorded, such as the presenter talking directly to the camera, a voiceover/narration on a PowerPoint (similar to a webinar), or a mix of the two.  Tech savvy? Great! Not so tech savvy? Great, too! We'll walk you through some easy options such as recording through Zoom or similar apps.
  • For panel discussions, we request that each speaker is clearly identified.
  • Please note that if recording on Zoom or a similar app with your image shown while speaking that some slide wording may be covered by the video narration pane. (In some versions of PowerPoint, the video narration pane can be moved on the slide after recording.)
  • Please note that if using an older version of PowerPoint, animations do not convert well to video format. If you’d like to use animations, please consider multiple slides to achieve the same effect.
  • Wide format is preferred, but standard will work as well – just be aware that some black space will be on each side as your slides appear to viewers if you use standard format.
  • Your video presentation should be at least 9 minutes but may be up to 50 minutes in length.
  • Record your presentation and save it in either .MP4 or .MOV format. Alternatively, if using a PowerPoint with narration, you may upload it as a .pptx file for us to convert for you. Not sure how to do this? Just ask!
  • For all formats, please check audio before uploading!

   About formatting your poster presentation:
  • Vertical or horizontal format is acceptable.
  • Your poster should be of sufficient size to be easily read when zoomed in for viewing by the attendees. We suggest at least 24" x 36" or the approximate metric equivalent (61 cm x 91 cm) allowing for variations in international standard format sizes. Larger posters are acceptable as well.
  • Please submit your poster presentation as a .pdf file.

About the presentation schedule and discussion:
  • Presentations will be grouped together by theme. Further information about presentation scheduling will follow closer to the conference. However, presentations will be uploaded daily at midnight (00:00) EST [UTC-5] when the past day's presentations will be moved to our presentation gallery where attendees will still be able to view them.
  • Once posted, presentations will be open for discussion via commenting throughout the conference. We request that presenters respond to comments in as timely a manner as possible during the conference. Please let us know if you will not be able to respond during the time of the conference so admins can note that responses may be delayed.
  • Presentations will be made available to the general public via our website after the conference ends, but commenting will be turned off following the conclusion of the conference after presenter responses have been posted. You are welcome to post your contact information for ongoing correspondence from our website visitors.
Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions.
We look forward to viewing your abstract proposal!
