I had 7 months of bronchitis, at times, acute....for 2 weeks I lost my voice and none of my doctors would give me anything or treat me for my symptoms. They told me to sleep with a humidifier and cough it up. I slept in a recliner almost the whole pregnancy. By the time I had my daughter, I could not hear out of my right ear and my gynecologist finally prescribed an antibiotic for it. My daughter was jaundiced and spent 4 days in the hospital. At 6 weeks, she contracted meningitis, almost died and was on a respirator for 4 days and in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks. She had Strepococcus pneumonaie bacteria. I know that if the doctors would have treated me, my daughter would not have gotten sick. She suffered throughout the years and died in 2014 from shunt complications. I asked the doctors at the time she got sick if she could have gotten it from me being so sick for so long while being pregnant and they didn't really want to answer me. Every pregnant women should get tested in labor. I have often wanted to tell my story but haven't found the right avenue.
