Mother's GBS Status: Tested positive
Gestational Age: 37 weeks
Age harmed: less then 24 hours old
Well, my story is a little different then all the ones before me... I am currently in the hospital hospitality room researching what the NICU is treating my beautiful angel for. Mara was not eating right for her first day of being on this earth. Everything we tried was just not working. I tried breastfeeding and Mara just spit up everything she ate. The doctors had given me one shot of antibiotics during labor because of a positive GBS test during my prelabor exams. Well now I sit here with a 2 day old little girl not knowing why she is sick. No one is really giving me any answers at all right now. No cultures have come back yet but they have already started treating her for GBS just in case. They said she has a really good chance of everything being alright. Please pray for my angel and I hope this is not what anyone else has to be going through because the worst feeling in the world is not knowing what is going on with your newborn baby and not being able to get any answers.
