Mother's GBS Status: Not tested
Gestational Age: 37 weeks
Age Harmed: At birth
Katie was born by emergency C-Section after her heart rate dropped. She was transferred by helicopter to the University of Nebraska Medical Center NICU. Katie developed pneumonia and meningitis and was on ECMO for 7 days. Permission to "Do Not Resuscitate" (DNR) was requested twice. Katie had open heart surgery twice, lung damage, and 3 eye surgeries. Katie spent 7 months in NICU and has had developmental delays throughout her life.
