Second child, no morning sickness. At 18 weeks I started feeling back and pelvic pain. Went to the doctor who told me to rest and take it easy. I went in to the doctor at 20 weeks for a routine check. I was told everything was fine. Five days later I noticed a bloody mucus-like discharge, I went into the outpatient L&D where they did an ultrasound. Again everything was normal. Later that day the doctor came in to do a vaginal culture but would not get the results back for 3 days. I was told to go home and "take it easy".
The rest of the night I was having severe back pain but hot packs seemed to help. The next morning I woke up with a fever and severe cramps. As my husband took me to the hospital I admitted to my self they were contractions. I went into L&D where they didn't seem to in rush to see me. I was finally put on a fetal monitor. A couple of nurses tried to find a heart beat but there was none. As a nurse was attempting to draw my blood between contractions I felt a gush of water. I knew my baby had passed. The doctor finally came in and said I was in full labor. Worst experience of my life I will never get over. Please be tested. If not at your well-baby check, as soon as you see more than normal discharge.
