This was my very first pregnancy. I experienced an unusual type of thrush but being young, I was too embarrassed to say anything. In Sydney, they swab for GBS at 36 weeks but Arlo and Evie passed away at 35 weeks. I experienced reduced movement the day before and zero movement the day I was in hospital getting checked for my diet controlled GD. An ultrasound was conducted and I received the news that no heartbeats could be found. I was induced the following afternoon and gave birth to Arlo and Evie the next morning.
I had a fantastic pregnancy with them, they were very healthy and great sizes for twins. GBS really blind sighted us. It is really down played here in Australia and I have even read of women being encouraged in social media blogs to refuse antibiotics because they have been told that GBS is common and harmless. Hence why I am passionate about spreading awareness.
