I was tested for GBS in my pregnancy, my test was negative. I was induced with my little girl and 3 days later after a spinal tap in our local hospital she was life flighted 3 hours away to a bigger hospital. She underwent numerous MRI’s, she had pic lines places for her antibiotics, and received more spinal taps. After a day in the bigger hospital she started having seizures because the bacterial meningitis she was diagnosed with went into her brain so she was then received antiseizure medication. We spent 6 weeks with her in the hospital 3 hours away from our family and other children. After the 6 weeks, she still had to remain on the seizure medicine for a year. She is our GBS survivor and is perfectly healthy today.
