Age harmed: 1 day old
My waters had broke and it was just past 12 hours before I delivered her, she should have been given antibiotics. 24 hours following birth she was unsettled then her breathing was off, chest raising up and down. Luckily a midwife manager instructed the duty midwife to check Lexis stats, they called an ambulance immediately. Fast forward, she survived following 15 days on IV antibiotics in NICU. No brain seizures, 3 lumber punctures we were able to go home. She was so unsettled for a long time, I was exhausted, sleep was so inconsistent. She caught viruses all the time, for a while she was on antibiotics every second week until we got grommets put in at 7 months, and tonsils and adenoids removed by 2 years. Now as an 18 year old she has a lot of emotional deregulation.. I think it may be ADHD, but I am desperate for help as is she. I always thought it was just teenager behaviour and she would get through it but the anxiety is there all the time.
