gbs-intl_logo heart_February
This health observance month is sponsored by GBSI on the US National Health Observance Calendar as well as other health observance calendars around the world.

Many types of infections can be prevented with healthy pregnancy behaviors. Use the word “HYGIENE” to make these behaviors routine!

Handwashing helps ~ wash your hands thoroughly after feeding a young child

Yes to prenatal care ~ see your provider right away if you have any vaginitis symptoms

Good food prepared safely ~ avoid soft cheeses if made with unpasteurized milk

Immunizations ~ make sure you get recommended flu shots

Evade others’ bodily fluids – don’t share food and drinks with young children

No to unnecessary invasive procedures ~ membrane stripping can move germs closer to your baby

Environmental precautions ~ walk in the middle of trails to help avoid ticks

Please click here for our downloadable “HYGIENE” poster and other resources and use #ProtectYourUnbornBaby to show your support!

Fun for children! Teach your children how to set the table (washing their hands first to prevent the spread of germs!) with a downloadable placemat for them to color. CMV and GBS prevention info is on the back for parents and caregivers!
